The Partnership for Extraordinary Minds will present several speaker meetings over the next few months.
All meetings will take place at the Rockville Memorial Library at 21 Maryland Avenue. Registration is not required and the meetings are free to members of xMinds and $15 for non-members. Each meeting will take place from 7 to 9 pm.
February 12: Writing IEP Goals and Objectives for Students on the Autism Spectrum—Bring your student's IEP for this interactive workshop with special education consultant Suzie Blattner. After a presentation about the essential aspects of an IEP, the audience will practice writing meaningful "present levels of performance" and specific, measurable, realistic, time-limited IEP goals and objectives.
March 14: Executive Functioning Strategies for Students on the Autism Spectrum—Dr. Rebecca Resnik will explain how to strengthen your child's executive functioning skills and how you can help your child be a more flexible learning, as well as help make homework time easier.
May 14: Occupational Therapy for Students on the Autism Spectrum— Occupational therapist Lois Hunter will present about OT and teach strategies that address challenges that may impact participation in school.
