About AutMont

AutMont was created and developed by Jean, who has an autistic child, Jack, and two neurotypical children. She grew this website into a vast resource for Autism families in Montgomery County.  In April 2013, the site was taken over by Stacy, who has an autistic son, Noah, and a neurotypical daughter, Mallory.

Stacy, Noah and Mallory, April 2013

You can find autism and special education events by looking at the calendar. Each calendar listing links to AutMont's blog post about that event. You can subscribe to AutMont's RSS feed to get posts about events, organizations, and other things delivered to your Google or other RSS Reader.

Don't forget to visit the Forum to connect with other special needs parents. Ask a question, propose a playdate, ask about a treatment. As long as we're civil and not libelous, we can build a great community here!

AutMont was first conceived as merely a calendar listing of autism related events in Montgomery County, Maryland, but soon expanded into what Jean a gathering place for parents of autistic children, as well as autistic adults and teens. We welcome all suggestions. Please let us know what you think!

All content is approved by Stacy. Any hateful or disparaging comments or forum messages will be deleted. AutMont is about support, no matter where in your autism journey you are, or what your methods of dealing with it may be.

While the focus of this site is autism, other conditions that are often associated with autism will be discussed here as well. You are welcome to submit events for publication to Jean at autismmontgomery[at]gmail[dot]com.

Note: All posts written prior to April 2013 were created by Jean, even though the byline says otherwise, it's just a little glitch in the switching of ownership. We apologize for any misunderstandings.

DISCLAIMER:
Please do not construe a listing of an event or an advertisement in the sidebar to be an endorsement of the organization within. Always research activities and organizations before taking part in their services or events. AutMont will accept no liability as a result of attending an event or using a service listed on this site. While all efforts are made to provide correct information, AutMont cannot guarantee that the information listed does not change after posting on this site. In most cases, AutMont has provided a link to the organization sponsoring the event. When possible, confirm listing with them.

Jean and Jack, without them, this resource would not exist.
